For the second birthday of my daughter, the theme was owls, and I made this cake. The owl itself I copied from some dishes are sold for birthdays, that's what gave me the idea for this theme.
Now I'll show you how I did it. I am not at all an expert in this, but I enjoy it a lot.
First I made the cake itself, then I put it in the freezer for several hours. When they were sufficiently frozen, I put buttercream icing between them, and then with the copy I made of the owl drawing I took made the necessary cuts.
As you can see, I had to add a bit for the head and the other ear. I quickly covered it all with more buttercream icing, and this time I put it in the refrigerator to keep it cool.
Then I separated several balls of fondant to apply different colors. I started with pink, to make the tummy. You can see I put down a pink base, and on top I placed feather by feather.
Then with the brown color. I used the copy of the drawing to mark the form to cut around the tummy. I carefully made sure that everything would stay securely in place without leaving folds.
Then to cut the excess.
Now to make the eyes. With my copy in hand, I marked in the fondant not only the shape of the big white part of the eyes, but also the blue, so that I would after know exactly where to put it.
Here you can see it with the eyes and beak. Once I had the bow on her head. I made a branch with the fondant that was left and some fingers for his legs.
Finally I put some leaves around there. What do you think? The cake not only looked cute, but it was also very delicious.
