Marie Birthday Cake (Aristocats)
Continuing with the theme of The Aristocats for my daughter's birthday, I could not forget the cake!
Here's a quick explanation of how I made it. My daughter chose the flavors, which were chocolate and lemon.
After baking and assembling each level, I covered them with cream. The cream ended up somewhat liquid, but it wasn't anything a stint in the refrigerator couldn't fix.
After I stretched it well, I scored my fondant using a drawing of the cat with the help of an plastic tool used to mark pumpkins. You can use anything that is not too sharp.
And now to add all the details.
I must confess that I was afraid her eyes were not going to turn out well, but somehow I did it!
Here I used my tool to cut fondant ribbons.
I cut 3 pieces in a single pass. Then form a circle and with the back part of a somewhat thick brush, I started to mark the entire tape.
And then to put together the whole cake. I used edible beads around the kitten. For some reason the images I took did not turn out great, but I can assure you that it looked even better in person.
